Touch nominated at Fotobookfestival Kassel 2013
Touch has been nominated at Fotobookfestival Kassel 2013. The festival presents a yearly Photobook Award with prominent nominations of the best photobooks of the previous year, selected by a jury comprising renowned photography experts from around the world. Each expert chooses his or her own favourite book. The awarded books will be exhibited during the festival. There will also be a e-catalogue that presents all books.

Touch nominated for Dutch Doc Award 2013!
From the 37 nominations from the longlist, six works were chosen to be exhibited at the Tropenmuseum. One of them wins the Dutch Doc Award 2013.
The nominees are: Ben Krewinkel: A Possible Life; Hans van der Meer: Nederland - uit voorraad leverbaar; Jacqueline Hassink - Table of Power 2; Kadir van Lohuizen: Via PanAm; Peter Dekens: Touch; Robert Knoth & Antoinette de Jong: Poppy - Trails of Afghan Heroin.
The members of the jury were: Frits Gierstberg (Dutch Photo Museum), Azu Nwagbogu (Director Lagos Photo), Dana Lixenberg (photographer), François Hebel, (Director Rencontres d'Arles) and British Anna Fox (photographer and photography professor).

Printing the touch publication is expensive and that's why I'm also try to finance the printing phase with crowd funding.
Voordekunst (dutch for 'for the art') is the crowdfunding platform where you can give a donation to support this project. Also very small donations are welcome. The period is limited: donations through Voordekunst are possible until September 12th, 2012.

Photo Academy Award Nomination
Touch is nominated for the Photo Academy Award 2012, a competition for recently graduated photographers from Dutch and Belgian academies.
My photo project 'touch' will be on display during BREDAPHOTO 2012. This is a biennial photography festival in Breda (the Netherlands) that will take place from September 13th through October 21st 2012. The entire city of Breda is then dedicated to documentary photography. Exhibitions include work from renowned photographers as well as students of Belgian and Dutch academies. This year's edition has the theme "Homo Empathicus. Touch, the project about Stijn, a boy born blind, fits well within this context. www.bredaphoto.nl

The book 'Touch' will be printed in an edition of 500 copies. Please reply me via if you want to be informed when the book appears.
There will also be an autographed special edition created with an original print from this series.
Graduation show AKV | St Joost
The publication of my photo project 'touch' will be on display for the first time during the graduation show of AKV | St Joost, Breda. This exhibition can be visited from June 30th through July 4th 2012 from 11am - 17pm. Also an introduction to my new project "Seks is van iedereen' will be on display.
Start of my fourth year of documentary photography at St. Joost Art Academy
In September 2011 I started my fourth year of documentary photography at St. Joost Art Academy in Breda (the Netherlands). I decided to continue and deepen the project ‘Reshaping Sexuality’ which I started a year ago. It is my aim to publish this project in book form and display it in an exhibition next year.
Exhibition at ‘Kaap Belvédère’ in Katendrecht
Together with seven other photographers (all studying at the St. Joost Art Academy in Breda, the Netherlands) I exhibited at Belvedere in Katendrecht (Rotterdam, the Netherlands), which is a cultural centre focusing on the history of Katendrecht. This exhibition is part of a long term project initiated by St. Joost Art, in which photographers give their individual take on Katendrecht and its urban developments and changes.
